What is peptide therapy?
Peptide therapy uses short chains of amino acids that act as signals in the body, prescribed as small daily or nightly injections.
The two we prescribe, sermorelin and tesamorelin, prompt your own pituitary to release more growth hormone rather than adding hormone from outside. At Hydralive Therapy in Huntersville, programs run from $199 a month after a $30 consult and $250 labs. Peptide stacks start at $318 a month.

No clinic in the area publishes a peptide price. Here is every line of ours.

Tesamorelin
Priced at your consultWhat the labs are for. Growth hormone itself is hard to measure because it pulses. IGF-1 is the marker that tracks it, and it is checked at baseline and again at about three months so the prescriber can see the therapy is doing what it should and adjust the dose. Blood sugar is checked because growth hormone affects it.

Is peptide therapy right for what you're after?
Pick the one that sounds like you. Tap to open the answer.
"I'm over 40, I train, and recovery takes twice as long as it did."
Growth hormone output falls with age, and sermorelin prompts your pituitary to release more of its own, mostly overnight. In a controlled trial of older men, nightly dosing raised overnight growth hormone and improved some strength measures over four months. Give it three months, train through it, and let the IGF-1 at month three tell you what it is doing.
Sermorelin, from $199/mo
"It's the belly. Everything else is fine."
Tesamorelin is the only peptide here with a trial specifically on visceral fat, the deep abdominal fat around the organs. In a 26-week trial it reduced visceral fat by about 15% against placebo. That trial was in people with HIV-related fat changes, which is what the drug is approved for, and use in other adults is off-label. The prescriber will say that plainly and talk through whether it fits.
Tesamorelin, priced at your consult
"Sleep is shallow and I wake up unrested."
Growth hormone releases mostly in deep sleep and sermorelin is dosed at night for that reason. People report deeper sleep on it, and the trials measured hormone output rather than sleep, so we call it a common report rather than a proven effect. Three months is enough to know.
Sermorelin, from $199/mo
"I want the BPC-157 everyone on Instagram is on."
So does everyone who asks. It is not something a clinic in North Carolina can legally prescribe today, and the reason is in the FAQ. When that changes, it will be on this page with a price. For injury and recovery in the meantime, cryotherapy and red light have more human evidence than BPC-157 does.
Cryo and red light, from $40
"I'm not sure peptides or testosterone is the right question."
Book the consult and let the labs answer it. If testosterone is low, testosterone therapy is the direct fix and peptides are the wrong tool. If testosterone is fine and it is recovery, sleep and body composition you want, peptides are the conversation. Some men do both.
$30 consult, $250 labs
Peptides vs testosterone vs growth hormone.
| Sermorelin / tesamorelin | Testosterone therapy | Injectable growth hormone | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it does | Signals your pituitary to release more of your own growth hormone | Replaces testosterone directly | Adds growth hormone from outside |
| Your body's feedback loop | Stays intact; you cannot push levels past what your pituitary allows | Suppressed while on it | Suppressed |
| Who it is for | Adults with declining GH output who want recovery, sleep and body-composition support | Men with low testosterone on two morning labs plus symptoms | People with diagnosed growth hormone deficiency only |
| Legal status | Compounded by prescription | Schedule III controlled substance by prescription | Prescription, illegal to prescribe for anti-aging or athletics in the US |
| Evidence | Small randomized trials on hormone output, visceral fat (tesamorelin) and some strength measures | Two large trials on sexual function, mood, body composition and heart safety | Strong for deficiency; not for healthy adults |
| Monitoring | IGF-1 and blood sugar | Testosterone, blood count, PSA, blood pressure | IGF-1, blood sugar |
| Here | From $199/mo | $199/mo, $129 members | Not offered |
If your testosterone is low, start there. If it is fine and you want the recovery and body-composition lane, peptides. The consult sorts it with labs rather than guesswork.
What happens in the program?
-
Week 0, the consult
Thirty minutes in person. Goals, history, cancer history, training, sleep. Blood pressure, weight. Labs drawn: IGF-1, blood sugar, thyroid, blood count.
-
Week 1, the plan
Results reviewed, prescription sent to the pharmacy, and the medication compounded for you by name.
-
Week 2, the teaching visit
Fifteen minutes with the nurse. You reconstitute a vial, draw a dose and inject it, once, in front of someone who does it every day. You leave with written instructions and a phone number.
-
Weeks 3 to 12, the routine
A small subcutaneous injection into the belly fat each night for sermorelin (tesamorelin is daily). A pinprick. Most people notice sleep first, in the first few weeks. Recovery and body-composition changes are a three-month conversation.
-
Month 3, the check
Repeat IGF-1 and blood sugar, a visit with the prescriber, dose adjusted if needed. Then every three to six months for as long as you continue.

Under North Carolina rules, here's who's involved
Sermorelin and tesamorelin are prescription medications, compounded for you by a licensed pharmacy on a prescriber's order. In North Carolina a nurse practitioner prescribes under a collaborative practice agreement with a supervising physician. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not evaluate them for safety, effectiveness or quality. That is true of every compounded peptide anywhere, and it is why the prescriber and the pharmacy are a named, accountable part of your plan here rather than a website checkout.
Does peptide therapy work? What the trials measured.
For the two we prescribe, there are controlled human trials, and here is what they found.
Sermorelin
In a randomized trial published in Metabolism, healthy older men took nightly sermorelin for four months. Overnight growth hormone secretion rose, IGF-1 rose, and some measures of muscle strength and endurance improved against placebo. A 2020 review summarized the growth hormone secretagogue trials as showing improved body composition, with the caveat that the studies are small and long-term data are lacking. We keep that caveat.
Tesamorelin
In two pooled phase 3 trials covering 806 people over 26 weeks, tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by 15.4% against placebo, raised IGF-1, and improved triglycerides, with no meaningful change in blood sugar. Those trials were in people with HIV-related fat changes, which is the approved use. The mechanism is the same in anyone, and use outside that group is off-label. The prescriber will say so.
What the trials did not measure
Sleep quality, skin, hair and "anti-aging" are things people report and things other pages promise. The trials measured hormone output, fat, strength and blood markers. We describe the rest as reports rather than findings.
For athletes
Sermorelin, tesamorelin and every other growth hormone secretagogue are prohibited in competition by WADA, and so is BPC-157. If you compete in a tested sport, this is not for you.
Peptide availability, updated 30 August 2026
Offered here: sermorelin and tesamorelin, by prescription, from a licensed pharmacy. Pending FDA action: BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-c and several others were recommended for compounding by an FDA advisory committee in July 2026; the FDA has not yet authorized them, so no clinic can legally dispense them today. When that changes, this page changes with it.
Who is peptide therapy for?
People over 40 who train and recover slowly. CrossFit Huntersville, the masters swimmers at HFFA, the Saturday ride to Davidson. Sermorelin at night, cryo after the hard sessions, red light on the sore bits. All three in one building.
People with a stubborn midsection. Tesamorelin is the only peptide with a visceral-fat trial. It sits alongside a training plan or the medical weight loss program rather than replacing either.
People who sleep badly and wake unrested. Nightly sermorelin, three months, then decide. If the labs show something else, thyroid or testosterone or hormones, the consult goes there instead.
People who read about peptides and want a real answer. The consult is $30 and the prescriber will tell you what is legal, what has evidence and what does not. That conversation is rarer than it should be.
Who should not take peptides?
Tell us at the consult if any of these apply.
- An active cancer, or a cancer in the last five years (a conversation with your oncologist first)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Diabetes or uncontrolled blood sugar (a conversation, with monitoring)
- A pituitary condition
- Competing in a sport that tests for banned substances
IGF-1 and blood sugar are checked at baseline and at three months. If a number moves the wrong way, the dose moves or the therapy stops.

Peptide therapy FAQs
How much does peptide therapy cost in Huntersville?
A $30 consult, $250 for baseline labs, and from $199 a month for a single peptide at Hydralive Therapy in Huntersville. Peptide stacks start at $318 a month.
What peptides does Hydralive Huntersville offer?
Sermorelin and tesamorelin, prescribed by a clinician and compounded by a licensed pharmacy. Peptides the FDA has not cleared for compounding are not offered, and the list of those changes; ask at the consult.
Are peptides legal?
Sermorelin and tesamorelin are, by prescription from a licensed clinician and compounded by a licensed pharmacy. Several peptides sold online, including BPC-157 and TB-500, are not currently permitted to be compounded for patients in the United States. An FDA advisory committee recommended several of them in July 2026 and the FDA has not yet acted on that recommendation.
Do you have BPC-157?
Not today. In July 2026 an FDA advisory committee voted to recommend BPC-157, TB-500 and several other peptides for compounding, and the FDA has not yet authorized it. When it does, they will be on this page with a price. BPC-157 is also banned in tested sport. For injury recovery in the meantime, cryotherapy and red light therapy have more human evidence behind them.
Does peptide therapy work?
For the two we prescribe, controlled human trials show sermorelin raises overnight growth hormone and IGF-1 and improved some strength measures in older men, and tesamorelin reduced visceral fat by about 15% over 26 weeks. The trials are small and long-term data are limited, which is why IGF-1 is monitored.
Peptides or TRT?
If your testosterone is low on two morning labs, testosterone therapy is the direct fix. If it is normal and you want recovery, sleep and body-composition support, peptides are the conversation. The consult and labs decide it. Some men do both.
How do I take sermorelin?
A small subcutaneous injection into the belly fat each night with an insulin-style needle. You are taught in person and do your first one in front of the nurse.
How long until I notice anything?
Sleep is the first thing people report, usually within a few weeks. Recovery and body-composition changes take three months, which is when IGF-1 is rechecked.
What are the side effects of peptide therapy?
Injection-site redness or itching, joint aches, headache and some fluid retention are the common ones. Anyone with an active cancer should not take growth hormone secretagogues. IGF-1 and blood sugar are monitored.
Are peptides banned in sport?
Yes. Sermorelin, tesamorelin and all growth hormone secretagogues are on the WADA prohibited list, as is BPC-157. If you compete in a tested sport, this is not for you.
Does insurance cover peptide therapy?
No, it is self-pay. HSA and FSA cards usually work for prescriber-directed treatment; check your plan.
Can I combine peptides with IV therapy or cryotherapy?
Yes, and the people who train usually do. Your first visit includes a free cryotherapy and red light session with any paid service.
